Design studio of 17 square meters. m

Studio apartment - housing, in which there is only one room, combining in itself places for work and rest, cooking and receiving guests. It is not always spacious - a poor student, a young couple, a mother with a child often allow themselves to be quite inexpensive, and therefore a cramped room. Design studio 17 square. m. can be organized in such a way that the apartment not only accommodates everything necessary for a comfortable life, but also becomes visually a little more spacious and lighter.

Features of planning, design

Properly done planning solves several problems at once:

  • in a limited area placed the necessary things for life;
  • there is a place to sleep, any activity;
  • the room comes out as cozy as possible.

When the apartment was originally an ordinary odnushku, redevelopment of her in a full-fledged studio will require the signing of some "permissive" documents. In rare cases, it will not be possible to completely rebuild the premises - it is dangerous to demolish partly or completely the bearing walls, this threatens to cause the entire building to collapse. In a separate room there will be only a bathroom - joint or separate. Sometimes he manages to "press", freeing up to two meters square territory.

The studio looks more spacious, lighter, in a very limited area there will be no temptation to store all kinds of unused trash - it simply does not fit. The disadvantage is that no more than two people can comfortably live in a cramped apartment. It is desirable to make all household appliances built in, choosing the most compact, if possible - silent. Be sure to use the window sill, the space of the balcony, the height of the ceilings.

Since the apartment is quite small, it will take quite a bit of time and finance for its high-quality accomplishment.

How to correctly zone the space

Proper room zoning will compactly place all things, not too cluttering up space.

There are main areas:

  • for sleep, rest;
  • for food;
  • for work.

They are made as separate as possible from each other, especially if the apartment is intended for two. Professional designers advise to adhere to the uniform color scale supplemented with separate accents in different logical zones.

Zoning is done using:

  • sliding screens;
  • openwork screens;
  • curtains;
  • podiums;
  • furnishings;
  • ceiling height drops;
  • different shades of the floor, walls;
  • arches;
  • bar counter.

The screen separates the child’s crib, the sleeping place, the study will be located behind the high shelving, the kitchen will be separated from the living room by the bar, the rest area on the loggia will be an arch, the entrance hall will be a closet with full-length mirror. Zoning an apartment that has a square or rectangular shape usually doesn’t cause any difficulties, but it is also possible to successfully decorate rooms of complex shape.

Suitable stylistic directions

In conditions of overly limited space, not every style can really be fully recreated. Therefore, the main elements are used that hint at one or another style:

  • minimalism - eliminates all unnecessary, clothes, dishes, any other items, neatly stored behind any closed doors, the decor is almost absent;
  • Japanese - a sleeping place is organized on one podium, a kitchen set is on another, food is taken at a low table, in the center of the room is a reed mat;
  • classic - wooden furniture and floors, light finish, a small amount of plastic stucco on the ceiling, on the windows - long curtains, on the walls - elegant shelves;
  • ecological - natural finishing materials, textiles of natural shades, potted plants on the windowsill, light floral ornaments;
  • loft - brick walls, "under the brick" wallpaper, large windows without curtains, loft bed above the office, animal skin, instead of a blanket or carpet;
  • high-tech - an abundance of glass, metal surfaces, chrome-plated parts, silver blinds on the windows, the latest household appliances.

Finishing methods

There are many design options for interior decoration, each uses a variety of finishing materials. But for a tiny 17-meter apartment, not everyone is acceptable. The stone, with the exception of the sheet, is not suitable - it is quite voluminous, it will take up to several tens of square centimeters. Two-three-tier suspended plasterboard ceilings can be used as a zoning element, but very carefully and only if the height of the room allows.

The flooring is made homogeneous throughout the apartment - so it looks more spacious. Suitable natural wood, laminate, ceramic tile, laid on a diagonal, dense linoleum, self-leveling floor. If desired, tiles emit only kitchen space, bathroom.

The walls are made in approximately the same color range - the sleeping area is plastered with wallpaper, wooden panels, the kitchen is decorated with tiles or plastic. The color gradient looks original - each place has its main color scheme, which gradually passes into another in the next zone.

The ceiling is preferred light - tension, painted, decorated with foam panels. Small elevation differences are allowed to highlight different zones, for example, a hallway. In the bathroom, all coatings are selected waterproof, with reliable protection from mold, fungus.

Color solutions for a small apartment

The brighter, warmer the colors used, the more spacious the room seems. For apartments with large windows facing south, it is permissible to use colder, more saturated colors.

Popular combinations:

  • snow white with sky blue;
  • pink with violet;
  • sunny yellow with spring green;
  • pear with melon;
  • antique azure with light brown;
  • golden with rich sand;
  • periwinkle with cornflower;
  • apricot with slate blue;
  • milky with light coffee;
  • purple with beaver;
  • marsh with bottle green;
  • dahlia with mustard;
  • pearl gray with khaki;
  • tea green with red chestnut.

The main color is taken by the one that is lighter - it accounts for up to 65% of the processed space, the auxiliary color will take about 30%, the rest will be small color accents.

Selection, arrangement of furniture

In the kitchen area, the most important thing is a powerful hood. It will not allow food smells to spread around the room. It also houses a mini-kitchen, which includes everything you need:

  • washing;
  • a gas stove - preferably a two-burner or hob;
  • small fridge - vertical or horizontal;
  • hanging lockers - they are made to the ceiling;
  • work plane.

Hanging lockers are selected with open shelves or decorated with glass - they are made to the ceiling itself. The compact dining area is a folding bar counter or extended sill. In the presence of a loggia, heated balcony, combined with a room, it is carried there, making out a small table, kitchen sofa with sections for storage.

In another version, a study room is taken out on the balcony - this will make it possible to save considerably on lighting, especially in summer. It is made out by a computer table with many drawers, a comfortable chair. For women, a dressing table is also located here - it is much more convenient to apply cosmetics in daylight.

Upholstered furniture is represented by a folding sofa on which they sleep at night, in the daytime - used for sitting. A good option is a wardrobe-bed, which leans back against the wall during the day, descends for the night, forming a full-fledged sleeping place for one or two people. If necessary, a crib for a baby is placed in the room, and next to it is a changing table, a chest of drawers, which can accommodate a part of baby clothes and baby care items. If you have a bed on the podium, it also stores different things. Sofa-chest - not less useful acquisition, it is often supplemented with chairs, soft poufs, folding chairs.

In the dressing area is a straight or corner wardrobe, through which the hallway is separated from the living room. If possible, not only clothes and shoes are stored in it, but also part of household appliances, sports accessories, etc. The bathroom here is very cramped, because it costs several hanging cupboards, shelves under the bathroom, a hanging toilet, corner sink, and a shower. In the presence of a child, the furniture for him is selected the right size or adjustable in height.

When living together an adult and a child, two people, the sleeping area is decorated with a bunk bed.

Creating a second tier as a way to increase space

In the presence of a high ceiling, a kind of second floor is made in the room, on which the sleeping zone is located, and with a height of more than four meters - an office. There is a staircase leading along one of the walls; it is protected by handrails, like the floor itself. Below is an entrance hall, kitchen, a place for receiving guests or a nursery. In the steps it is convenient to organize many sections for storage - books, toys, accessories, shoes, etc.

Children's room on the second floor is also sometimes done, but only if the child is already big enough. Security issues are carefully considered.

Lighting

In addition to the main overhead light, local lighting of each zone is made, as well as decorative lighting. The main ceiling chandelier is chosen as flat as possible - a large, multi-tiered screen obscures the view. The study is illuminated with a desk lamp, a sleeping place with a wall lamp, a dining area with a pendant lamp with adjustable height, and a cooking zone with a lamp on a special rail.

In the hallway, the light is mounted directly above the mirror, which is sometimes drawn up by LEDs around the perimeter. In the bathroom with an area of less than three square meters, one lamp, well protected from moisture, is enough; each sanitary appliance is lit up in more spacious ones. Decorative lighting is mounted on the bottom and top of the kitchen set, creating a “floating” effect; glazed cabinets are illuminated from the inside.

In the presence of the second floor, it is covered separately.

Decor textiles

There shouldn't be a lot of décor - a few knick-knacks on a shelf under the TV, a couple of photos in frames, an improvised embroidered panel. Houseplants are permissible, but they should not be too much.

Textiles preferred monophonic, light or with a low-key pattern. A large carpet is appropriate here, combining most of the furniture, bedspreads, combined with window curtains, chair covers suitable for sofa cushions. Sometimes in each separate zone they put a rug, dividing the space with a fabric, crumbling curtain.

Conclusion

A design project for the redevelopment of a one-room apartment in a studio with an area of 17-18 square meters is created taking into account the number of residents, their gender, age, type of activity, personal preferences. If you wish, it is created with your own hands, but most people prefer to turn to professionals, who not only advise a suitable arrangement of all objects, but also depict a room in 3D.
